About the Event
This is a monthly, virtual networking and mentoring event where professionals and caregivers who are supporting persons who use AAC can connect, ask questions, and have discussions. This month, we are joined by SLP, researcher, and partner coach, Dr. Jane Remington-Gurney, who will facilitate a thoughtful discussion around the emotionality of supporting AAC users on their journey.
As therapists, can we do better in the area of responding to the emotional needs of the people we support in AAC? Join the discussion and learn from Dr. Remington-Gurney's personal and professional experiences on this topic. Dr. Remington-Gurney will provide a framework to help us think and discuss this question, considering factors across environment, culture, our own "being", our relationships, our interaction style and more. This talk is appropriate for professionals, AAC users, and caregivers.
