This class is Part 4 of a four part, introductory course on how to conduct the core elements of a comprehensive augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) assessment. Here you will learn how to initiate trials with selected AAC systems and obtain resources to assist in decision-making and funding for technology. This is a pre-recorded, on-demand training.

Training details:
Upon completion of this class, you will be able to:
• Utilize an AAC assessment and intervention framework (The “AAC Compass Framework”) to guide your AAC assessment from AAC System Design to AAC System Trial and beyond.
• Establish and execute an effective plan for system trial with core, evidence-based AAC practices at the center.
• Demonstrate understanding of family-centered strategies to support final system recommendations.
• Identify resources to support report writing, data management, and system funding.

This class can be taken alone or as the fourth in the series. It is designed for beginning to intermediate AAC professionals, including speech-language pathologists, behavior professionals with communication expertise, and educators. It is highly recommended that all participants take the first, second, and third classes in the series (Part 1, 2, and 3) prior to participating in this class to assure continuity of content.
