Volunteer board member positions
AACcessible's board members guide our mission and organizational direction in vital ways. Key responsibilities include the following:

Attend and participate in monthly board meetings (virtual).

Serve as an ambassador for AACcessible in your professional and community circles.

Review and provide input on programs, priorities, and strategic direction.

Support sustainability efforts through networking, outreach, and sharing opportunities.

Uphold ethical and fiduciary stewardship of the organization.
Board service is a one-year commitment, with the option to continue based on mutual interest and organizational needs. As a gesture of gratitude for service, board members receive complimentary access to the AAC Academy learning platform during their term, along with discounts on digital resources and AAC-themed merchandise on AACcessible.org. SLP
Ambassador
The Volunteer SLP Ambassador is a Board of Directors role dedicated to lifting the voices and needs of speech-language pathologists within AACcessible’s mission. This ambassador helps guide program development, resource creation, and training initiatives so they are relevant, practical, and supportive of SLPs working with AAC learners and their families.

Ambassador
The Volunteer PT Ambassador is a Board of Directors role dedicated to representing the perspectives and needs of physical therapists within AACcessible’s mission. This ambassador helps guide program development, resource creation, and training initiatives to ensure they are relevant, practical, and supportive of PTs working with AAC learners and their families across mobility, positioning, and participation in daily routines.

The Volunteer Education Ambassador is a Board of Directors role dedicated to representing the perspectives and needs of educators within AACcessible’s mission. This ambassador helps guide program development, resource creation, and training initiatives to ensure they are relevant, practical, and supportive of teachers integrating AAC and inclusive communication practices into classrooms and other learning environments.

The Volunteer Development & Outreach Ambassador is a Board of Directors role focused on strengthening AACcessible’s visibility, relationships, and community engagement. This ambassador supports strategic messaging, partnership-building, and outreach efforts to ensure our mission, resources, and activities are clearly communicated and accessible to families, professionals, and supporters. The focus of this role is on collaborative planning and relationship stewardship—not fundraising quotas.
