About the Event
AAC, Literacy, & the SLP is a 3-part, 6-hour live online learning series designed for speech-language pathologists and other professionals who support AAC users and learners with complex communication needs. Led by Beth Poss, MA, CCC-SLP, the series explores the connections among communication, language, reading, and writing and provides practical, evidence-based approaches for assessing literacy development and integrating comprehensive literacy instruction into language intervention. Each 2-hour course is offered for 0.2 ASHA CEUs. Learners may register for one or more individual courses or participate in the complete three-part series for a total of 0.6 ASHA CEUs (6 PDH).
Course 2: Applying the Science of Reading to Literacy Instruction for AAC Users explores how evidence-based reading instruction can be made accessible and meaningful for learners with complex communication needs.
