About the Event

This is a monthly, virtual networking and mentoring event where professionals and caregivers who are supporting persons who use AAC can connect, ask questions, and have discussions.  This month, we are joined by SLP's and product consultants, Kristin Whitfield and Christie Rowzee, of Control Bionics, who will offer their expertise regarding alternative access for AAC communicators.

Guest Bios &l Disclosures:

Both presenters are employed by Control Bionics, maker of the NeuroNode Trilogy and NeuroNode iOS devices.

Kristin Whitfield, MA, CCC-SLP, is the Clinical Education Specialist for Control Bionics.  In this role, she is responsible for developing and delivering clinical education offerings as well as coordinating partnerships with researchers and industry thought-leaders.  Kristin approaches her role with the desire to help others love augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and the people who use it, as much as she does.

Before joining the Control Bionics team in 2021, Kristin specialized AAC, working in a variety of clinical settings as well as in sales and clinical education roles for a device manufacturer.  She also trained sales representatives at GE Healthcare on various patient monitoring devices, including EMG technology.  She received her undergraduate degree from Augustana College and her master’s degree from the University of Minnesota.

Kristin has presented on various AAC topics at local, national, international, and online conferences/workshops and has had several articles appear in AAC publications.

Christie Rowzee is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist with experience working with adult and pediatric clients.  She received her Masters of Arts in Speech Language Pathology from the Louisiana State University. Following her graduation, she worked in clinic and hospital settings throughout Texas, Louisiana, and New Jersey. She has been a licensed speech-language pathologist for the past 8 years.

Christie is currently a Regional Sales Consultant with Control Bionics.
